From Ellie's Friends:

Animals are such an important part of our lives!

Welcome to the first edition of Ellie's Rainy Day News!  Companion animals are such an important part of our families and our lives.  They give so much to us and we naturally want to give back to them.  In these newsletters we will share with you stories of their love for us, ideas for ways we can better love them, and of course stories of how your amazing support has helped.  Our partnership makes it possible to address pets' health crises and keep pets and people right here in the Miami Valley togetherOur goal is to celebrate the bond we have with our pets…I bet it will make the day better for us and for them!

*If you like what we're doing, you can support us by sharing us and this newsletter on Facebook and/or forwarding it by email (using the buttons at the end of this newsletter). Thank you for helping to get the word out.

Love Stories:
“She has a lot of life left & deserves to live it”:

As many of you know, Marley was one of the first beloved pets to be helped by Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund and is currently the featured Love Story on our website.  Click the link to read her story.    http://elliesrainydayfund.org/love-stories/  Watch below to see what she and her "Mom" are up to now!

Health and Well-Being:

“ERDF truly can make a lifesaving difference” :

A message from one of our partner veterinarians:
"As a fellow animal lover, being on the "front lines" as a veterinarian can be emotionally taxing when you have to give unsettling news about a sick or injured pet to a worried guardian.  When this scenario is compounded by serious financial limitations that threaten successfully helping someone's cherished pet --- it truly can be devastating to everyone.  ERDF is an invaluable "safety net" when the unfortunate economics of a medical problem greatly handicap an opportunity to get a needy cat or dog on the road to recovery.  Whether it be assisting in the treatment of a parvo puppy belonging to a young family that didn't realize more vaccines were needed.......or aiding in the medical care of a blocked cat who is the cherished companion of an elderly gentleman on a fixed income.......ERDF truly can make a lifesaving difference for many."

In the Miami Valley:

“A Blast (of Water, That Is) Was Had By All”

Doggie Dash N Splash: August, 2015:
We had a great time meeting so many of you at this year’s Greene County Parks & Trails DDNS.  We felt so supported by all the enthusiasm you showed for our work.  We knew there were more people out there like us who feel the incredible bond between pets & people.  People (YOU!) who are willing to pay it forward: to give of yourselves to keep those relationships together when medical crises & financial hardship threaten to break that bond.  Follow the link to get in on—or revisit—the fun! (Lots of new pictures added too)

Paws To Ponder:

"When I look into the eyes of an animal I do not see an animal.
            I see a living being.
                        I see a friend.
I feel a soul."           -AD Williams
