Dear School Families,

I’m writing with an update to my earlier brief message notifying you of school cancelation for today.  As you may be aware, at approximately 5:45 a.m. this morning the Upper Merion School District made the decision to close after receiving an alleged threat of a possible violence towards its schools.  The Upper Merion Police Department and FBI initiated an investigation and the school district and its offices closed today.

I assure you there was no threat made toward our school community or its students, faculty, or staff in any way.  However, due to the proximity of our school community to the Upper Merion public schools and in consultation with law enforcement, we made the decision to close school today at Mother Theresa, out of an abundance of caution.  We have maintained communication with law enforcement throughout the morning and have learned that Upper Merion School District will remain closed through the school day, and the investigation into the threat is ongoing.

Please know that the safety and security of your sons and daughters is our top priority and that all threats with potential impact to our school are taken seriously.  We expect to resume operations on our next scheduled class day, Tuesday January 22.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this uncertain situation.  Be assured of my prayers for you and your families during these early days of 2019.
Ms. Christine Pagan
