#thankalobocounselor!

This week we celebrate National Counselor Week. We are proud to have Mrs. Deverich and appreciates all she does for our students and Little Elm ISD community.

Mrs. Deverich, M.Ed.
School Counseling

As we are in the midst of the flu season, it has been rumored that the season is not at it's peak at this time. If your child has been diagnosed with having the flu or has started to have flu-like symptoms, it is best to keep your child at home until they show no further signs or symptoms. We want our children here at Lakeview to learn; however we do not want our kids who may have the flu or flu-like symptoms to bring  any illness to school. If you are unsure whether or not to send your child to school, here are signs and symptoms of the flu courtesy of the CDC:
  • Fever* or feeling feverish/chills
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue (tiredness)
  • Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
Please also remember if your child has a fever of 100.0 or higher, they may not attend school until they have been fever free for 24 hours without giving fever reducing medication. One last thing, if your child is sick at home, please be sure they are consuming water or other liquid to stay hydrated during any illness.
