Newsflash for the NEREUS community
Get ready for the joint NEREUS/ESA event
at the European Parliament on 28th June 2016

NEREUS has been invited to speak at high-level events, bringing forward the role of regions in improving the uses of space technologies in Europe. The 2016 European Space Agency Living Planet Symposium (Prague), the first European Space Forum (Luxembourg) as well as the European Space Solutions (The Hague) conference have been unique occasions to promote the network and share concrete examples of regional space applications. The first snapshots resulting from the joint NEREUS/ESA initiative on "Improving Copernicus uptake among local and regional authorities" were brought to the attention of broad audiences, as well as the invitation to attend the project's final event at the European Parliament on 28th June 2016.
The final program of the joint NEREUS/ESA event "What can Sentinels do for Regions?" is now available
Following the opening of MEP Patrizia Toia and the introduction by ESA and NEREUS representatives, the regions involved in the project will portray the situation of Copernicus uptake in their territory and address key messages to the audience. The political panel will give inputs on what can be done in Europe to improve the use of Sentinel data. The debate will be opened to the audience. The entire event will be moderated by Joachim Weidemann
