Arrr...Strike yer colors! There be pirates here! Raid th' library and find gold at our scurvy pirate event!
Don yer pirate garb, earn a book, prepare yer ship, visit the tattoo parlor, and earn yer sea legs.

Back-to-School Bash
Saturday, September 15
12:00 - 2:00pm

Celebrate the start of a new school year at APL's Back-to-School Bash! Grab some food, play on inflatables, pick up free books, see the model train display, and much more! 

*Activities will be held inside the library and in the parking lot across Central Ave.

Teen Game Night

When: Wednesday, September 05, 2018 5:30 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Cardinal Room

Drop in for an evening of video and tabletop gaming. We'll have party games like Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, and Rocket League for the Wii and PS4, as well as classics like Apples to Apples, Jenga, and Uno. Teen programs are for those in grades 6-12 only, please.

Where: Anderson Public Library at Children's Department

Arrrr.....Strike yer colors! There be pirates here! Raid th' library and find gold at our scurvy pirate event. Don yer pirate garb, earn a book, prepare yer ship, visit the tattoo parlor, and earn yer sea legs. Be they landlubbers or seadogs, all families welcome!



Messy Mess

When: Monday, September 10, 2018 11:00 AM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Children's Department

Come make messy messes at the library! Don't worry, the librarians clean up all those important experiences and explorations. Wear some old clothes because things will get messy!



Game Night for Grownups: In the Abstract

When: Monday, September 10, 2018 5:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Cardinal Room

Chess enthusiasts and puzzle gurus will enjoy our theme this month! Try out abstract games like Azul, Santorini, Dragon Castle, Ingenious, Hive, Tak, Patchwork, and more! Or, bring your favorite abstracts with you (like mahjong)!

Game Night for Grownups is a gaming group for adults only! We meet on the second Monday each month. We feature games fitting a different theme and you are welcome to bring your own games if they fit the theme of the month. Beginners welcome--we will teach you how to play!

Tween Time

When: Monday, September 10, 2018 5:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Blue Room (Children's Dept.)

No parents or siblings* allowed! Tween Time is for tweens only. This program is focused around activities that tweens enjoy and is based largely on their input. Join us to meet some new friends, have some fun, and share your opinion with the library.

*Siblings are allowed if they fall within the grades 3-6.



Toddler Storytime: Read Me a Story

When: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 10:30 AM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Children's Department

Read Me a Story is a traditional library toddler storytime with a Hootenanny-style song sing. New friendships will bloom, marvelous discoveries will be made, and, best of all, it happens in that place of dazzling magnificence: Your Library!



DIY Discovery

When: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 4:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Blue Room (Children's Dept.)

Come discover a new hobby at the library! We will have special guests visiting to share their hobbies with us, you never know what you will discover at the library. * Registration is encouraged, attendance is limited to 15.



Literary Lab

When: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 4:30 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Children's Department

Join us for a story and activity focused around the elements of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. At this program, there is no wrong answer. Let your creative juices flow to problem solve and explore our activity. Adults must be present with their child during this program.



Researching the History of Your House

When: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 6:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Miami Room

Discovering your home’s history can be fascinating!  Indiana Room librarian Bill Hartley will share the best resources to use to help you uncover your home’s past, plus discuss the research limitations you may encounter during your quest.



Tinker Tots

When: Wednesday, September 12, 2018 10:30 AM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Children's Department

Young children are insatiably curious. During Tinker Tots we will provide activities that encourage exploration and problem solving. Activities will include the components of STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.



Gizmos, Gadgets, and Goo! @ Lapel

When: Wednesday, September 12, 2018 3:30 PM
Where: Lapel Branch Library at First Floor Meeting Room

Gizmos, Gadgets and Goo! is an after school program where we explore different STEAM topics.
