Celebrate the beginning of baseball season with a fusion of the finer things in life: baseball and ill-planned tea parties! Elegant, delectable refreshments will be served from the concession stand during our annual game of frying pan baseball! If you are thinking that this makes no sense, you are exactly right!
International Tabletop Day
Saturday, April 28
1:00 - 4:00pm


All ages are welcome at this drop-in event as we celebrate International Tabletop Day! Bring your favorite games with you or play some of ours. Are you a Catan fan? Play a GIANT floor version of this classic! Library staff will be able to teach a variety of games if you want to try something new.

Books are Yummy is a traditional library baby storytime with a Hootenanny-style song sing. We will meet in The Green Grotto for a heuristic playtime for the first half hour, then we will enjoy stories and songs together. New friendships will bloom, marvelous discoveries will be made, and, best of all, it happens in that place of dazzling magnificence: Your Library!
Mondays at 10:30 doesn’t fit your family’s schedule? Have we got some great news! Books are Yummy comes in pop-up form, too! You never know when there will be a storytime at the library because they pop-up all the time!



Tween Time

When: Monday, April 02, 2018 5:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Blue Room (Children's Dept.)

No parents or siblings* allowed! Tween Time is for tweens only. This program is focused around activities that tweens enjoy and is based largely on their input. Join us to meet some new friends, have some fun, and share your opinion with the library.

*Siblings are allowed if they fall within the grades 3-6.



Read Me a Story

Teen Game Night

When: Wednesday, April 04, 2018 5:30 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Cardinal Room

Drop in for an evening of video and tabletop gaming. We'll have party games like Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, and Rocket League for the Wii and PS4, as well as classics like Apples to Apples, Jenga, and Uno. Teen programs are for those in grades 6-12 only, please.



Little Bookworm

Be prepared to tell us about one of the funniest books you have read and why it was hilarious! Sing some silly songs, participate in some humorous stunts, and create a jester hat to wear.



Declutter and Organize for Spring

Where: Anderson Public Library at Delaware Room

Looking to jumpstart your spring cleaning? Barbara Bougher, a Certified Organizer Coach, Certified Professional Organizer, and the owner of Divine Order, will share tips on how to simplify and organize your home and life without getting overwhelmed.



Crafternoon: Zentangle Drawing

When: Saturday, April 07, 2018 2:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Cardinal Room

Zentangle drawing is a simple and fun way to release stress while creating beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Sonia Buck will guide participants in this easy-to-learn art form that will bring out the artist in anyone. Registration is required. Ages 16 and up only, please. Light refreshments will be provided.

Game Night for Grownups: Terraforming Mars

When: Monday, April 09, 2018 5:00 PM
Where: Anderson Public Library at Cardinal Room

A gaming group at the library for adults only! We meet on the second Monday each month. We will teach the featured game of the month but you are welcome to bring your own games, too! Beginners welcome!

In the 2400s, mankind begins to terraform the planet Mars. Giant corporations, sponsored by the World Government on Earth, initiate huge projects to raise the temperature, the oxygen level, and the ocean coverage until the environment is habitable. In Terraforming Mars, you play one of those corporations and work together in the terraforming process, but compete for getting victory points that are awarded not only for your contribution to the terraforming, but also for advancing human infrastructure throughout the solar system, and doing other commendable things.

Light refreshments will be served.
