Mary, Star of the Sea School
"Achieving for today...Preparing for tomorrow"
A Message from your Principal
Aloha Na Hoku Ohana!

C.S. Lewis once said, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.” Our goal for this month at Mary, Star of the Sea School is to teach our students that integrity is more than just a single action or act of goodness but is exhibited as one's whole character. Our Lenten journey is providing our students the opportunity to become more in tune with this mindset that Jesus' exemplified throughout his life which is "wanting to give without wanting anything in return". Teaching our children to make the right choices, no matter what, can be a challenge. In fact, without the guidance from the Holy Spirit, home and school, they may not even know what the right choices are.

It is hard to believe that we will be wrapping up our third quarter of the school year. From program coding to homemade terrariums, we are continuously striving to enhance our differentiated, cutting-edge curriculum and equip our students with life-long skills that will assist them to achieve high school success.  We will conclude our quarter by participating in the Annual Jump Rope for Heart Fundraising Event and I hope to see you at our Family Movie Night that will take place on Friday, March 18 on our beautiful green lawn.

This is an exciting time for our graduates who are in the process of receiving notification of their acceptances into high schools.  May God's grace and guidance lead them to selecting the school that will be the best fit for them.

Third quarter report cards will be mailed home during the first week of the spring break and the office will be open to assist you if needed. Meanwhile, our exciting summer school program has officially been launched and I encourage you to have your child participate by registering either online or at the school office.

My highlight of the week was when I received this picture from our first grade teacher Mrs. Tanaka. Taryn found this piece of bark in our playground and when she showed it to the teacher she said it made her think of Jesus.  What do you see?
May the love of the Lord light up your world, this Lent and always.
