WELCOME BACK NA HOKU!

SOS STUDENTS SHARE THEIR HOPES, GIFTS, AND TALENTS FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR!

Our back to school prayer service, on Thursday, July 30th, was themed "We are a Gift". The school-wide gathering celebrated the students' gifts and talents. It encouraged the students to think about their individual talents and to recognize the importance to share one's talents with others.
Gathering as a school community is an important practice at Star of the School. We welcome you to join us at our weekly mass celebrations on Fridays at 8am where each grade is given the opportunity to lead mass throughout the year.

Parent Orientation Night and BBQ Social
Wednesday, August 12
5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join us for our back to school bbq social followed by an opportunity to meet your children's teachers and familiarize yourselves with Star of the Sea's Curriculum and Extra-curricular opportunities. A Message from the Principal

As your partner in education, it is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you all to a new school year.  Star of the Sea continues to recognize the need to provide a competitive and challenging curriculum to best prepare our students for high school success.  On that note, it has been a very busy and productive summer, filled with exciting new curriculum initiatives and school improvements.

Star of the Sea School is very fortunate to have an active and dedicated Parent Teacher Guild (PTG): a group of parents who will be working hard all year to promote and support the best educational environment possible for your children and to build solidarity among our Star of the Sea School families.  This summer they began phase one of our “Help Us Bloom” playground improvement project.  The playground is already beginning to look fantastic.   Members of our PTG Board for the 2015-2016 school year are:  Jennifer Wharton, Seong Won Bae, Meghan Buck, Lance Monroid, and Jennifer Thompson.  You will get an opportunity to meet this year’s PTG at our first official event which is Parent-Teacher Orientation Night, scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, 2015.   We will kick off the evening with a family BBQ social followed by the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers.   Your BBQ order forms will be sent home Monday, August 3.
In closing, our mission at Star of the Sea remains to provide a quality education in a Catholic environment and to impart life-long Christian Values.  I encourage you to join us in this endeavor and to make a deep and genuine difference in the lives of your children, and through them, the future of our society.

God Bless,
Margaret Rufo, Principal
