Building a reputation in retail

Chalcroft is continuing to build on its reputation in the UK retail sector.
 

The company has recently started work on a project in the centre of King’s Lynn to redevelop a major shopping venue, and is also carrying out work on a major fit-out project in Birmingham.
 

In addition, Chalcroft has just commenced a £5.4m project in the Midlands to build a distribution facility for a well-known retail brand. More>>>

Hot topics in the frozen sector

Chalcroft was once again the proud sponsor of the BFFF November Industry Forum. Speakers included Graham Loudon of CGA, James Walton from IGD, and Chris Hayward from Kantar Worldpanel.

Chalcroft has worked with big-name brands over the years, and was able to share its views on the sector, and construction, in a presentation to the delegates.

Making space work for TK Maxx

TJX Europe, the operator of leading high-street retailer TK Maxx, called in Chalcroft to manage the fit out of their newly-constructed 111,484m² distribution facility.

Chalcroft acted as Principal Contractor and scope of works included overseeing the installation of a three-storey mezzanine structure, sprinkler and security systems and full mechanical and electrical fit out. Chalcroft also managed the co-ordination, health & safety and programme management of the project in Knottingley, West Yorkshire.

Peter Evans, Project Manager at Chalcroft, said: “By managing multiple elements of the project, including the many trades involved in the installation, we were able to ensure the project was completed to the highest standards and delivered on time.” More >>>

Chalcroft’s Todd Hallam shortlisted for industry award

QEHS Director Todd Hallam has shown he has the right ingredients for success, as he has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award.


Todd has been announced as a finalist in the inaugural British Frozen Food Federation’s People Awards, which “celebrate the best talent the frozen food industry has to offer”. Todd is up for the Health and Safety Champion accolade, and is the only construction-industry representative to make the finals. More >>>

Alison Dubock joins the Chalcroft commercial team

Alison Dubock has joined Chalcroft as Managing Quantity Surveyor. With 30 years’ industry experience and practised skills in value engineering and cost planning, Alison brings with her excellent cost management and negotiation expertise. Alison will lead a team of eight quantity surveyors and trainees and her role will see her being responsible for the implementation of robust and well-structured commercial procedures. More>>>
