The weather is trying to keep us down but this adorable picture from a puppy birthday party from Allison Hall is really brightening our day.

Willing to sacrifice

We hope one day of class was nicely offset by the first Wednesday of the quarter which seemed like a sleepy day at the Hub.

90s party tickets are still available last we checked, though your favorite costume or homage to pop stars and cultural icons of yester-century should be planned sooner than later. Have a great Thursday!

What's cooler than being cool?

Ice cold. No sign of spring in sight as we continue to expect snow (brb weeping) and flurries from this afternoon through to evening. Before that it will be cold with a low of 23°F (-5°C) and a high of 34°F (1°C). Bundle up buds.

Thursday Things

More programming today as the quarter gets underway. Don't overexert yourself though, we know the jet lag come down is really real.

  • Get zen today. A morning with yoga is a good morning. Get down on it (it being your mat) with the Wellness Club today to start your day right. (10:30 a.m., Fitness Studio)
  • Star(t) Trek.  May 9th is the Chicago Start-Up Trek. If you're interested in learning more about the city's entrepreneurial opportunities, do not miss today's info session. (12:15 p.m., Room TBA)
  • Learn This, Lunch That. The Transportation Club is hosting an interesting lunch and learn with two aviation experts—Marty St. George [EVP- Commercial, JetBlue Airways] and Alan Wise [Senior Partner and Managing Director, BCG Atlanta]—as they discuss the future of the field. (12:15 p.m., 1120)

Sleepy Spring

If you are anything like the Daybreak crew, you are still struggling with some jet lag and exhaustion post an epic Spring Break or quarter abroad.

To help get back to that self-care lifestyle, we wanted to share a few tips or suggestions to get you feeling fine for the first weekend back.

1) Book a massage. We know it's more of an investment to pay for a massage in the states than it would be in some of the exotic locales you just returned from, but certain spots in Evanston and Chicago offer student discounts, or keep an eye out for a Groupon. Asha SalonSpa on Sherman is a good place to start.

2) Get up offa that thing. Currently we are all fighting an overwheling urge to sit/hibernate/hide until the weather stops being so disrespectful. Sadly, to feel better, you have to get up and move. Why not explore some of the fitness studios in Evanston like CycleBar, Title Boxing Club, or Grateful Yoga?

3) We go deep. The stress of Kellog can be super real as we all know. Job and internship searches, being a good partner or parent, and balancing extracurriculars with academics takes a lot of patience and practice. Take personal inventory to decide what you want your spring to look like and reflect. We're big fans of the Calm App (which is free for us!) and some good ol' fashioned journaling.
