Unfortunately, due to the impending nor'easter, Trunk or Treat has been canceled.
Worship Service
10:30am

This Sunday, we begin a new tradition: Covenant Sunday. It is a day in which we'll not only give thanks to God for the financial gifts that support our ministries, we'll also renew our promises to serve one another and God in covenant. We'll be blessed by music from our pickers and we'll baptize Duncan and Polly Pyle's new grandchildren! If that wasn't enough to convince you to come, we also have heat! Childcare available.
Cherub Choir Debut!

Don't miss the debut of our Cherub Choir on Sunday! They, along with their caregivers, will be opening our worship service with the traditional spiritual "I'm Gonna Sing When the Spirit Says Sing."  The Carol Choir will make their debut next week!
Attention Newcomers!
11:45 am in the Chapel

Come meet one another, other members and our staff, and get to know our church! Lunch and childcare provided. Email Laura Jordan for more information.
High School Youth Group: Rally for Transgender Rights in Boston

Please bring a packed lunch! If you’re planning on coming, let Jenn know as soon as possible so she can coordinate rides for everyone. Parents, youth and all members of the congregation are welcome!

Theology on Tap: How do we cultivate lasting Joy in a modern world?
Tuesday, October 30th at 7:00 at Jimmy's Culpeppers (above Willow's Racquet Club)

Our fall preaching theme at South Church has been based on the text The Book of Joy. Using the 8 pillars of Joy, we've taken a deep dive into how we might build our house of joy on strong pillars that can stand the test of time. Easier said than done, right? Join us for our next Theology on Tap discussion where we'll take a moment to talk a bit more about joy. Where do you find it? How is it different than "happiness?" What unique message does the Christian faith have for us about Joy? 815 Turnpike Street, North Andover, MA 01845
Day of Service & Supper
Saturday, November 3rd

Mark your calendars! Sign up here! Projects for all ages and abilities! The day begins with breakfast and check-in starting at 8am in the Fellowship Hall, followed by a short Circle Time before departing for a variety of community service projects. We'll close the day with a Ham and Bean supper at 5:30pm.  No one should feel compelled to cook after a long day of service, but if you are moved and able to bring cornbread, salad or a dessert (brownies are always popular). Curious? Want more information? Please reach out to Marc Henderson (Day of Service) or David Strong (Ham and Bean supper).
Hancock Courts Service Opportunity
Thursdays from 3:30-5:30pm

Join us as we help with homework and play a variety of games! This is a wonderful opportunity to build community with elementary students. No weekly commitment required. Interested? Questions? Contact Karen Sperling.
Lenten Devotion Submissions

The deacons invite you to reflect on THE SACRED TERRAIN OF OUR JOURNEYS. It is a blessing to our whole community when you share very personal experiences of the Spirit in your life. There is a tradition in our church of asking each year for poems, essays, inspiration, of your own or of your choosing. We will publish all submissions in the Lenten Devotions. We hope everyone will give of yourselves in this way during this year of discernment. Click here to submit your devotion.
Got pine needles?

If your neighborhood’s driveways and sidewalks are strewn with freshly fallen pine needles, don’t let them go to waste!  Fill a leaf bag and drop it off at South Church on Day of Service (11/3) and the Giving Garden work crew will put them to good use mulching the blueberries planted this summer. Pine cones, small twigs, regular leaves are okay to leave in the mix. Questions? Contact Mark Aude.
