The ADEMU Project Announces more Activities


After a successful start to the project last October, with the kick-off conference at the University of Cambridge, more upcoming activities have been announced for 2016. Below you will find more details about these events and how to register.

ADEMU Sessions

The Macroeconomics of Uncertainty Shocks: Evidence, Models and Methods
This is a Master Class that is being held at UCL in London March 14-15 and the ADEMU project is one of the sponsors. Professor Jesus Fernandez-Villaverde (University of Pennsylvania) will run the master class which aims to introduce students to the recent literature on macroeconomics of uncertainty shocks. Sovereign Debt and Austerity
This is an ADEMU special session that will be held as part of the meetings of the Royal Economics Society. It will take place at the University of Sussex in the UK on March 22 in collaboration with the Centre for Macroeconomics. The program structure can be found here

ADEMU Lectures

Fiscal Sustainability: What makes the Euro-Area Different?
This lecture will be held by Eric Leeper (Indiana University) at the University of Cambridge on March 15. Those who wish to attend can register here.

Growth and the Industrial Revolution
This will be a lecture given by Robert E. Lucas Jr. (Nobel Laureate in Economics) from the University of Chicago. It will be held on March 21 at the EUI in Florence, Italy. More information can be found here.

ADEMU Workshops

Macroeconomic Imbalances and Spillovers
This ADEMU workshop will take place April 29-30 at CERGE-EI in Prague, Czech Republic and it is being organized by CERGE-EI, in collaboration with the Barcelona GSE. A more detailed description of the workshop can be found here.

Risk Sharing Mechanisms for the EU
This ADEMU workshop will take place on May 20-21 at EUI in Florence and is being organized by European University Institute in collaboration with the Fiscal Affairs Department of the International Monetary Fund and the European Stability Mechanism. Mini Conferences

Macroeconomics of Financial Frictions
This mini conference will be held by the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the University of Cambridge along with the ADEMU Project on April 19. Speakers will include Nicholas Crouzet (Kellogg School of Management), Simon Gilchrist (Boston University) and Nobu Kyotaki (Princeton University). Heterogeneous Agents and Macroeconomic Modeling 
This mini conference will also be held by the Institute for New Economic Thinking at the University of Cambridge along with the ADEMU Project on May 10. Speakers include Gianluca Violante (New York University), Mark Huggett (Georgetown University) and Nezih Guner (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
