Employee Engagement - what is it and how to achieve it





 



 



 
"An engaged employee is defined as one who is fully absorbed by and enthusiastic about their work and so takes positive action to further the organisation’s reputation and interests."

"Employee engagement" is about positive attitudes and behaviours leading to improved business outcomes, in a way that they trigger and reinforce one another. It’s about your employees feeling pride and loyalty working for your organisation.

Employee Absence Costing the UK 29 billion a year 


Whilst this alarming statistic is a bitter pill to swallow, it is not all doom and gloom for UK organisations. A recent study from the CIPD shows there have been small signs of improvement in national employee absence levels, with the average decreasing across all sectors to 6.3 days per person – the lowest figure in 7 years.
