ShopRite Nutmeg State Games June 8th feature the Connecticut State Criterium Championships!

The ShopRite® Nutmeg State Games is Connecticut’s largest multi-sport premier sports festival. The “Games” will kick off on Saturday, June 8th at Walnut Hill Park in our Host City of New Britain with the fast paced and colorful Cycling Criterium.

The “Crit” continues to develop and attract more riders each year and welcomes back Laura Summers, event promoter and well-respected member of the bike racing community. In 2018, Laura developed a new event format and added junior races, and these will be continued after their extraordinary success.

Last year, the “Crit” had hundreds of participants from all over New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond to take part in the exciting day of races. “What I like most about this event is how it focuses on the ‘big picture’,” says Laura Summers, event promoter. “It strives to see all different types of people attend – from men to women to children - which makes for a more inclusive environment.”
