Monmouth County Update, Work Continues in Ocean

A Future With Hope just completed its last home in Monmouth County and was able to give the keys over to the family. Additionally, a smaller project in Southern Ocean County came to completion last week. 

"I can't tell you what a relief it is to have a kitchen," the homeowner said. "I feel human again. I can't thank you enough. I hope to pay it forward."

Disaster Response

ERT & LTR Teams for UMCOR/MCPR

UMCOR has received a formal invitation from Bishop Hector Ortiz of the Methodist Church of Puerto Rico (MCPR) requesting volunteers to support reconstruction following Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Registrations are now being taken for Early Response Teams (ERT) and Long-Term Recovery (LTR) Teams. Click here for more information.
 
UMVIM Leadership Training 
United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) will be hosting a leadership training session on March 10 at Westwood UMC. Click here for details and to register.
 
ERT Training Sessions

General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) announced that local churches and United Methodist organizations covered under the United Methodist group ruling can now be listed on Guidestar, the respected database of info about nonprofits, through this website.

Waves of Grace Women's Retreat in Wildwood  

This year's Waves of Grace Women's Retreat: Speak Life, will be held April 13-14 at the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood and is open to all women. Click here for more info. 
 

March 15 WCC Internship Application Deadline 

World Council of Churches (WCC) member churches are invited to send in applications of young people actively involved in church and ecumenical relations to the WCC Internship Programme in Geneva. Application deadline is March 15. Click here for details. 
 
Church Women United 
Church Women United in New Jersey is having their 75th anniversary celebration at Christ Church in Summit on April 28. The event will include worship, speakers, and a luncheon. Click here for details and contact info.
 
Act Now to End Racisim Rally in D.C. 
The United Methodist Church is joining other churches in the United States to bring thousands of Christians to the Washington, D.C. National Mall on April 4 for a rally and kick-off event hosted by the National Council of Churches in the U.S. to promote racial justice. The United Methodist Council of Bishops encourages United Methodists who are able to attend. Click here for more info.
 

Lewis Fellows Cohort Applications 

The Lewis Fellows program is a post-graduate, post-ordination leadership development opportunity for young clergy offered by the Lewis Center for Church Leadership of Wesley Theological Seminary. The program brings together outstanding young clergy for intensive leadership development activities and sustained peer interaction. Applications deadline is April 13. Click here for more info.
