Disaster Response 

Bishop Hector Ortiz of Puerto Rico met Sam Perez of Bishop Janes UMC at the airport in San Juan to receive $50,000 from GNJ for disaster relief. 

Relief and Recovery Updates 

To date, GNJ has collected over $243,000 for UMCOR disaster relief for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. GNJ United Methodists are encouraged to support the recent hurricane relief and recovery efforts in prayer and in action. Click here to learn more and find out ways you can help.

Puerto Rico Transition Task Force 

Many people from Puerto Rico including family members and friends of our worshiping communities are leaving the island to relocate temporarily and/or permanently to the mainland.  We want to be prepared. If you or your congregation will be ready to help these new transplants, please register here. We’ll let you know needs as they arrive.

Foundation Welcomes Whiting UMC 

Whiting UMC is the latest church to join the United Methodist Stewardship Foundation of Greater New Jersey's family. Their congregation deposited, $416,000 with Wespath through the Foundation. If you would like to find out how you can put your money to work for you in alignment with United Methodist values, contact Brian Mickle, Director of Development, for assistance, more information, or questions.

More than 75 churches have registered for materials -- sign up now for free sermon series resources, graphics, promotional material, small group curriculum, and much more! NJ Coalition for Diverse and Inclusive Schools 

Bishop John Schol has been asked to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Coalition for Diverse and Inclusive Schools, Inc. The coalition is the work of the Honorable Gary Stein, the Associate New Jersey Supreme Court Justice who spoke at Annual Conference. Bishops Urge New Legislation for 'Dreamers'

Registration Opens for UMW Assembly 2018 
The United Methodist Women Assembly 2018 will mark the official celebration of the organization’s 150th anniversary, returning to Columbus, Ohio, where the first assembly was held in 1942. Registration for the May 18-20, 2018 event is now open. Click here to read the press release.
