Volunteers Needed 

We've been blessed by the support and rebuilding efforts following Superstorm Sandy. As we near the end of our work, we're in need of volunteers for the summer, fall and winter to help finish what we've started and provide hope for those in complicated situations. Teams of 4 or more with flexible extended weekend schedules should email Lisa Park or call 732-359-1012 to schedule a team of volunteers. 

From Winter Jam to IGNITE

IGNITE Scholarship Fund

2016 Laity Leadership Academy

Serving to equip and empower laity leaders, the Academy offers expert assistance and guidance in creating vital small group ministries, an evangelism church, powerful worship experience, and social media ministry. Try out one of four specialty tracks.

New Anti-Malaria Drugs

The World Health Organization's global target for malaria elimination is 2030 and now, a new study reveals a new wave of antimalarial drugs in preparation. Due to your continued support, malaria fatalities have been cut in half. Read the article here. 

Day of Hope 

St. Paul Church and Day Care is having a Day of Hope, Health and Family Fair providing health screenings, games, and entertainment. Funds will be raised for A Future With Hope and Imagine No Malaria. A Future With Hope is the mission arm of the United Methodist Church of Greater NJ dedicated to helping families with Sandy recovery and developing Communities of Hope resourcing for our congregations.

Race 2 Rebuild

Will you join the race? Race2Rebuild has partnered with A Future With Hope to bring national awareness and important financial support to our work of recovery in New Jersey. The DelMosports Atlantic City Triathlon and 5K on August 14 is dedicated to Sandy recovery with funds supporting A Future With Hope. Find out more and sign up to race here

Central Region Day of Learning 

Registration for Doxology: A Worship Conference is now open. Join worship leader Kurtis Parks for a time of learning, sharing and spiritual growth, and worship with leaders from around the conference for a day of exploring new ways to bring the worship experience to life. Nov. 12, 2016. The Summer Music Institute brings together pastors, laity, and musicians, as well as renowned worship leaders and experts in liturgy, movement, music and ritual from across the globe. Featuring Rev. Newly Registered UM Historic Sites in GNJ

The General Commission on Archives & History has added McCullough House and Asbury UMC, both in Asbury, NJ, to the official Historic Sites of The United Methodist Church. These sites have been recognized for their vital roles in the church's Ministry of Memory.

Conference Journals

The 2016 Conference Journal will be available for review and download on the website. If you’d like a bound, printed copy, click here to order. Printed journals are available free to all retired clergy upon request and all others for a fee of $18. No CD-ROMs will be produced this year. Deadline for ordering a hard copy journal is August 15.

Campus Ministry Grant Applications due Friday

Is your church near a college campus? Do you imagine starting or expanding a campus ministry and need support? GNJ's Board of Higher Education and Ministry is offering a limited number of grants of $1,000, to help you start or grow your campus ministry. Grant money will be distributed in 2016, in time for you to welcome students to campuses for the fall semester. Click here for more information and to complete the grant application. Certified Lay Ministers Scholarships

Limited scholarship opportunities are being offered by The Board of Laity for people in the Certified Lay Ministry process who cannot afford the psychological assessment fee. Click here to find out more.
