CLINICAL UPDATE – Defining risk groups for acute rheumatic fever diagnosis
As rheumatic heart disease (RHD) awareness extends to southern and eastern parts of Australia, it is important to correctly diagnose acute rheumatic fever. To over-diagnose could result in years of unnecessary treatment, to under-diagnose could result is the development of unchecked RHD.
