Dear Tribe of Mat & Pen~
I hope your transition further into fall is going well this November. I write with one more invitation to join us next Friday, November 15, 5-8pm in Boston for "THE ART OF ALCHEMY: POETRY & SUSTAINABILITY IN A 21st CENTURY WORLD." I was so enlivened by what we co-created in September that I wanted to offer one more gathering this year around poems, self-care, and creative community.
In this workshop, you'll generate a few drafts of new poems, explore the inspiration in re-vision, practice poetry craft techniques, and learn new self-care skills to sustain your own creative writing practice. We'll read compelling contemporary poems where writers build worlds out of words steeped in their own human experiences. You'll continue to cultivate a relationship with your own authentic voice, and will have new tools to care for your poems, mind, body, & spirit in a beautiful and broken-open 21st century world.
DATE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2019 5PM-8PM
INVESTMENT IN YOURSELF & YOUR POEMS: $75
LOCATION: 87 WENDELL STREET, 3RD FLOOR, BOSTON, MA 02110
In a fast paced 21st century world that challenges our ability to reconcile sacred alongside secular, how can embodiment practices & poetry alchemize the sacred, mundane & profane experiences of our heads and hearts into meaningful art? How can our life experiences and our poetry connect us more deeply to ourselves, each other, and something larger? In the way that our lives are vessels for experience, poetry is a vehicle for expression, connection & emotion. We can use the awareness and expanded perspective we gain in combining grounded practices and self-compassion with our poetry to uncover our beauty, experience the innate sacredness of our humanity, and integrate the material of our lives more fully into a deepened sense of wholeness.
I've limited the group to 12, and we have 6 spots left. If one of the remaining spots is yours, hit "REPLY" and let me know. I'll send you payment details to secure your seat at the table. For those who have already registered, expect an E-vite this week that includes detailed directions, building access code, etc.
I can't wait to see what we co-create!
From my pen and poems to yours,
