Dear Tribe of Mat & Pen~
What's been getting you through this time of grief, change, and social distancing? Me, I've been doubling down on self-care and alchemizing this pandemic into poetry. It's that opportunity the free verse poem and self-reflection are perpetually offering: the ability to order chaos, and give life's challenges renewed meaning. Sort of like all those home reno shows I've been watching. And in yoga philosophy, that way of finding the nectar in the seeming poison--
letting it give rise to a new kind of psychic structure and embodied way of being.
I invite you to join me and poet-friend Harlym 125 this Thursday in creative co-conspiracy for an evening of poetry and community as we express and explore new ways of self-understanding within our beautiful and broken-open world and diverse community.
