“Writing is an ongoing fascination and challenge, as well as being the only form of spirituality I can consistently practice. I started as a poet and will always return to poetry—both reading and writing it—for that sense of deep discovery and communion I find there."--Kim Addonizio

Dear Tribe of Mat, Poem & Pen~

I write with one more call for my upcoming 6-week remote
Poetry & the Body course launching Fall 2022. Today I send along a testimonial from someone who has taken the course so you can bear witness to a past participant's experience:

"Well, I can’t believe how much material, information, tools, critiques… we processed in those few weeks and I missed one.  Every session was informative and enjoyable and we grew in comfort and communication
and humor!

I never thought I would take an on-line course, but it really worked for me.  You were consistently very present and listening intently, never failing to respond to people’s ideas. (very inclusive)

I liked the assignments for the most part and even the challenging ones were helpful.  Prompts assist me a lot.
I learned a lot about different tools, styles of poetry and it was great to see a poem become more understandable and accessibe and delightful!

Your “handouts” and assignments were just right for my time.  I loved listening to different poets and interviews.

My impression was that you were open to different styles and opinions (of students) and that you had worked very hard to present lots of new and fresh Ideas. And such thorough work in critiquing the poems we wrote.

So thanks , Lindsey, for this uplifting course during the pandemic and a somewhat morose time for me. It definitely lifted my spirits!"--Cheryl E.

A heartfelt thank you to Cheryl for this review, and for allowing me to share it with prospective course participants!!

POETRY & the BODY: FALL 2022

By the end of this series, you will have generated drafts of new poems, and perhaps revised others. You will have deepened your craft knowledge, engaged with accessible embodiment practices, explored new ways of approaching your poetry, and will have experienced poem-making to be a self-care skill and community-building experience allowing you to inhabit yourself, your life, and this beautiful and broken-open world in renewed and elevated ways.

Registration will close in one week! Sunday, September 11 so you have time to receive your welcome email & pre-course poetry treats.
We'll limit the group to 10. Email me this week to secure your seat!
