"We're just beautiful people with beautiful problems. Beautiful problems, God knows we've got them." ~Lana Del Rey

Hello Beautiful People,

I hope this note finds you well and navigating through this earth walk hand-in-hand with yourself as your own most valuable companion, even in the midst of the unpredictable daily happenings in your inner and outer world. I for one have definitely been moving my way through some of my own social justice campaigns in my personal life, and I've stumbled back over my sacred rage in the process.

Most of us haven't really been taught how to hold our anger, or allowed to healthfully express it, and over time I've found that just in allowing it to exist, and cultivating some compassionate observation around it, and towards ourselves as we carry it, we start to learn how to stoke it in ways that are useful, rather than suppressive or destructive.

Our sacred rage purifies and refines us, reminds us what is most important to us and of our life values, and it also allows us to connect more deeply to our head & heart as it burns through illusion and heightens our unequivocal awareness. You know i'm going to say it---I for one have found both my yoga and writing practices to be places where I continue to hone this skill of compassionate witness and gentle observation for all of my myriad emotions, and I wish the same to be true for you.

After all, in the words of Rainer Maria Rilke from "Letters to a Young Poet" :
Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.

I have a few upcoming group yoga classes and two writing workshops where we'll continue to allow all of ourselves to live in this world with both beauty, and courage:
