"Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and
you do not know what it will bring back,

Dear Seekers,

I rode last week through the earthen winter landscape, the snow outside the bus windows mapped against the sides of houses, in piles on the road ahead of us like powder as we curved toward West Cambridge, December just below freezing held by branches, power-lines and trees. It was the tundra of the snowy desert, and my own psychic landscape welcomed nature's quality of reflecting back to me my own inner winter wilderness. I knew it would take a while to get to my destination, some waiting, a transfer, and two buses, but somehow, with less rush to get there, and acknowledgment of the value of the journey, it added to that quality of enchantment and curiosity that made both my mind and body breathe further open as we traversed our way deeper out of the city.

I was reading last night about the elements of poetry, in a book from the seventies that I didn't ever expect to speak about the inner landscape of the mind as it serves the creative process, but I joyously happened my way into the pages where the elements of the psychic landscape were discussed---that way energy can move from survival brain, to mammalian brain, to "new" brain of the neocortex, and that in our poetry and creative writing we can allow all three brains into our poems and creative expression alongside breath, imagery, and language.

What's more, is that the way the body moves, and the consciousness with which we inhabit both mind and body, can influence which places in our mind we are living out of--this is another way the alchemy of our embodied yoga practice supports our creative process.

We'll explore all of this in my upcoming "Embody Your New Year: Yoga & Writing" workshop happening on January 1st from 10:30am-12:30pm at Om Namo Center in Cambridge --- I'd love to have you join me.

We'll both connect into and appreciate where we are now, and map out some places where in the next year we'd like to go. Physically, emotionally, psychically, spiritually. Creatively. We'll honor too the way the value lies not only in arriving at a destination, but in how we are getting there.

Come explore your inner landscape. There are still spaces left.

The early bird discount of $30 is good until 12/25, $35 after.
