Eighty students participated in three fun and interactive activities on the day including
- exploring the unique marine and coastal biodiversity of Port Phillip Bay
- learning about the key role vegetation plays in maintaining healthy habitats, and
- the challenges our environment faces now and into the future.
At the end of the day, each student made a commitment to help the local environment. Examples of commitments include "picking up rubbish and planting things", "putting dog poo in the bin", and "caring and loving the environment".
Portarlington Primary School will participate in their own environmental education day with Bellarine Bayside on 22 April 2016.
