Indented Head Community Hall Upgrade

We are currently working on improvements to the Indented Head Community Hall. To better accommodate our hall users air-conditioning will be installed, while acoustic panels have already been positioned on the ceiling, and wi-fi and a data system are up and running. The entrance will be upgraded including building a small car park and a disabled toilet will be installed inside. Keep your eyes on this space, social media or our blog to stay informed and updated.

Hall hire information can be found on our website. The Indented Head Community Hall has kitchen facilities and can accommodate between 80 and 100 seated guests or 120 guests for a standing cocktail function. The Parks Hall in Portarlington consists of the main hall, the Bayview Room that has a small kitchen, and the Parkview Room. Prices vary depending on the function, length of hire and whether it is hired for private or community use. Bellarine Bayside can provide public indemnity insurance for your function/event at a cost of $25 per event.

For enquiries please email or phone 03 5254 4007.

Holiday Park News

Summer office hours are 8am to 6pm.

Summer food vendors will be trading inside the Portarlington Holiday Park and on the foreshore and all are open to residents and campers. Graeme’s hot jam donuts, Vicki’s gelati and soft-serve ice-cream as well as Mr Mussel and Bella Smoked Fish will be trading at the Portarlington Pier. Don’t forget Dionne’s food van in the Port Holiday Park, selling loads of home-made goodies, plus milk, bread, papers and ice.

Friday night food trucks have been a great hit with campers and local residents so get on down to Portarlington Holiday Park for some wood-fired oven pizzas, Honeydee loukoumades (Greek donuts) or Naoya's ninja balls on 15 and 22 January 2016.

The Portarlington Charity Carnival is also on nightly from 7-11pm until 26 January.
Join in all our holiday fun. Activities for the kids include rockpool rambles, beachcombs, a night stalk at Point Richards Flora and Fauna Reserve, and a screening of the documentary 'Melbourne Down Under' showcasing the underwater world of Port Phillip Bay at the Indented Head Community Hall on 28 January 2016. You can stay up to date with other events by connecting to our social media accounts or blog where we will also be running several competitions throughout the summer period.

Do you know your zones?

New boating and swimming zones came into effect in January 2016. Find out more in our recent blog article or pick up a brochure from Holiday Parks Reception in Boat Rd, Portarlington or download a pdf copy here.

Film Night: Thursday 28 January @ Indented Head Community Hall

Check out this amazing 42 minute documentary that takes you on a journey of discovery through the vibrant and dynamic marine environment of Port Phillip Bay. You will also be able to ask the director, Jarrod Boord, any questions about the film or the marine environment.

Coastal Trail Improvements

Bridges, boardwalks, boat ramps and beautified coastal trails reflect Bellarine Bayside’s strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing coastal facilities, improving safe access, and sustainable use of the foreshore. To complement the bridges built in Portarlington last year, pedestrain bridges have also been recently installed over the St Leonards Creek and Indented Head saltmarsh, effectively joining three separate sections of coastal trail. The Indented Head boardwalk was also replaced and some sections of the coastal trail have been widened and realigned away from the road. Read more.

Many local residents turned out for the Planting Day at Lower Bluff on Sunday 26 July.

2015 Community Planting Days

Over the winter months Bellarine Bayside hosted three Community Planting Days, one each in Portarlington, Indented Head and St Leonards. We would like to thank all who volunteered their time to plant more than 2000 plants over these three days. And a special thank you to the St Leonards fire brigade who brought along their slip-on water truck to help water in the plants on Sunday 26 July 2015.
