Safe Harbour Update

Dredging works will commence on Monday 11 April 2016. Routine dredging of Portarlington Harbour is required to remove sand which has accumulated in the harbour through natural coastal processes. Dredging Portarlington Harbour is also required to improve boat access to the harbour and the new commercial berthing jetty being built to the east of the pier.

The required dredging has been planned to minimise inconvenience to locals and holiday makers by commencing after the busy Easter school holiday period and aims to reach the beach in front of Portarlington Holiday Park on the Anzac Day weekend. The dredge will be located in the harbour and pumping discharge points will begin at the pier and move gradually towards the holiday park to 1000 metres west of the pier.

Survey Competition Winner

Congratulations to Lois Matheson who was the lucky recipient of a two-night stay in a Deluxe cabin for completing our Camper Connections survey in January. Lois camps with her partner in Portarlington Holiday Park for three weeks during summer.

Illegal Litter Dumping

Unfortunately illegal litter dumping over the summer period has impacted on our precious coastal environment and created additional unnecessary costs for Bellarine Bayside. This illegal litter includes mattresses, household rubbish, environmental weeds and building material. Bellarine Bayside requests that rubbish is disposed of in the correct manner, as we would prefer to use our limited resources on beautifying the coast rather than engaging contractors to remove litter.

Fishing Photos Summer 2016

If you would like your fishing photos to be displayed on our noticeboard in Portarlington Holiday Park or in the e-News please send them to contactus@bellarinebayside.com.au.

Bellarine Bayside will receive approximately $395 000 to improve the Indented Head and St Leonards boat ramps with the remaining funding going to City of Greater Geelong for Stage 2 of the Clifton Springs boat harbour upgrade.

New brochures, maps and website
Bellarine Bayside have engaged Paul Kelly Creative in Geelong to develop a new website that will integrate the current holiday park and coastal management websites so they become a one stop page for all your Bellarine Bayside information. In conjunction with this they have also produced our new holiday park maps and brochures using the same graphic design as the new website. Our e-News subscribers will be the first to know when the new website goes live! In the meantime, our new brochures are available to download below.
Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee of Management meeting summary reports are now available on our website. Click here to read the summaries.
