Letty Dewar was recently appointed the new Chair of the Investor Advisory Panel (IAP), a nine-member independent committee of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) that advises and comments on proposed rules, policies and investor protection initiatives. Proposed Revised Rule for Distributions outside Canada

Comments due: September 27, 2017

The OSC published for comment revised OSC Rule 72-503 Distributions Outside Canada and proposed Companion Policy 72-503 Distributions Outside Canada. The proposed rule would provide explicit prospectus and registration exemptions that would preserve current cross-border practices.

The CSA published for comment proposed amendments to National Instrument 45-102 Resale of Securities that would introduce a new prospectus exemption for the resale of securities of a foreign issuer.
