One thing is for sure, Spring or Summer, the race is on as to which one will actually come first. The rain can't beat our guys though, they slug it out rain or no rain as we have too many valuable clients that want to move back into their new beautiful homes and we always try to make it ahead of schedule.

The spring carnival is over, the AFL draft is about to launch, We can't play cricket to save ourselves, but luckily Christmas is only 39 days away, and we will all be taking a well deserved break.
No new jobs have begun in the past month, but we have many quotes on the board and we are trying to finalise the important details with our clients in order to begin their project.

Current Projects - We have completed Hawthorn (Photos in the next month) and we are at handover stage with Carlton. Brighton is currently being fit off and cleaned up and handover is due for late next week. Our Northcote extension is due for Christmas and the boys are well and truly on target with this one. Another Hawthorn renovation has begun and the slab went down late last week, with the frame beginning at some stage this week. Toorak has started, slab is down, second storey frame is up and the roof trusses are being installed this week right on schedule. The last stage of Canterbury has begun which is the pool decking and new alfresco. Planning restrictions were holding us back, but we got last minute approval and have promised our clients that they will be swimming before Christmas (I love putting the pressure on!)

We have a couple of new time lapse videos in the Projects below this month, Hawthorn is showing you how to build a swimming pool in just under 2 minutes, and Toorak is showcasing our bricklayers hard at work putting up our external walls and parapet for the new second storey.

If you are considering a renovation at the moment, then feel free to get in touch with any of my team and we would be happy to provide any guidance that you might need.

Hopefully you all enjoy our newest monthly email, I would appreciate any feedback that might help us make it a more engaging publication.

- Tim Walker, Director
With handover complete, Morgan and her husband are thrilled with the result and can't believe their eyes. A bit of love, a good design, a builder open to ideas and you can have what you want.

Another project designed by Adele Bates, Morgan and her husband decided that they would like to bring a family heirloom (Been in the family for over a century!) back to life. A story tale once in the making, TCON have been asked to restore all the original features, new Bathroom, Laundry, Kitchen, Living, Herringbone floorboards throughout and some large timber windows to allow all the natural light to enter this Edwardian home.

With handover due in just over a week, the team are lined up and ready to complete this renovation. Tiling is finished, external cladding is on, the joinery is going in and the benchtops are due on Friday. The fit off is lined up, the floors will get a sealer, the house will be cleaned and Sarah will be moving in next Thursday.

We specialise in Architectural extensions and this Spanish mission is no exception to the rule. With humble beginnings and a big vision for her new home, Sarah and her designers have worked hard to come up with something that is both good looking and a functional space. The detail finds itself in every facet of the façade, with its tall Silvertop Ash cladded walls and inside, a vast, modern, light filled room. We’re harnessing natural light everywhere we can, keeping the house open, warm and functional. Stay tuned to see how we harness some of the Spanish heritage features to blend this home into the 21st Century.
With lockup stage completed, the plaster is in, the tiling is almost complete, the pergola is up and the decking is about to begin. The Joinery is about to go in and we are all systems go to get our clients back in to their family home for Christmas.

Our clients have worked with their designer to open up this Victorian Weatherboard home in a leafy pocket of Northcote. We've added a new main bedroom with WIR, Ensuite for Mum and Dad, along with new timber flooring and joinery to the existing bedrooms. A central Laundry backs on to a new Kitchen, which flows through nicely to the Living room and new Playroom at the back of the property.

We've maximised the light and outlook in to the backyard with classy black Aluminium double glazed Stackers, Sliders, and Fixed panel windows. New Wormy Chestnut Timber floors will transition beautifully in to the existing polished concrete Living room, and accentuate the modern finishes throughout.
With the swimming pool complete, our slab has just gone down and the frame will begin this week. We will be framing up the second storey in a few weeks, the roof will go on and we are pushing for lockup before Christmas. Don't forget the new pool time lapse below!

Hawthorn is a second storey extension to a stunning 1930's semi detached clinker brick home. The rear two thirds of the home has been demolished to make way for a split level extension. Going down four steps into a light filled Family/Meals room with nice open plan and a view into the Northern entertaining area with swimming pool and deck. Upstairs we have 2 new spacious bedrooms, bathroom and built in robes.
Toorak Timelapse Video
The slab is down, the second storey wall frames are up, the bricklayers are complete and the roof frame is about to go on. The roof tilers are booked in, the renderers too, we are aiming for lockup before Christmas, and I'm confident we will get there!

Toorak is a double fronted solid brick period home that we are demolishing the back north eastern quarter of the home, and putting a small 10m2 extension that will create a large entertaining area and kitchen. Once we head upstairs, the second storey will consist of 2 new large bedrooms, a walk-in-robe and ensuite.
Demolition has just begun, the stumps are in, the ceiling is being dropped and we will begin framing the deck this week.

We have been working with Victor and Michelle since November 2015 around their busy schedule as they decided to do section by section of their house when timing was right. The final stage is here and we are building a pergola and decking around their brand new swimming pool just in time for Christmas. With large Ironbark posts to be features of the pergola, and decking to match, this final piece of the puzzle will complete their beautiful home.
