Schools for Climate Action's H.Res 975

Schools for Climate Action is a non-partisan, grassroots, youth-adult campaign with a mission to empower schools to speak up for climate action. They advocate for elected officials to combat the climate crisis in order to protect current and future generations. Their H.Res.975 - Expressing the mental health impacts of recurrent climate-related disasters on youth, has over 35 cosponsors. ecoAmerica and and the American Psychological Association’s Mental Health and Our Changing Climate Report was specifically cited as supporting the rationale. Take action through their social media toolkit with a template letter to your representatives and social media graphics to share their efforts through your network!

Schools for Climate Action was the 2022 American Climate Leadership Award winner and you can read their replication guide HERE.

Thirty-one years later, due to the advocacy work of WI Green Muslims and others, Wisconsin opened a state Environmental Justice office earlier this year. Watch this episode to hear why communities need environmental justice offices and what we might do to get one where we live.
