DFEL NEWSLETTER JUNE/JULY 2018

Kindness can transform someone’s dark moment with a blaze of light. You’ll never know how much your caring matters. Make a difference for another day. Amy Lee Mercree

June is busy! with Dementia Awareness Week (4 - 10 June) and Carers Week (22 - 17 June). For Dementia Awareness Week, we launched Designs for Life at the North Berwick Community Day. For Carers Week, Hearts and Minds  ran a workshop on how carers can use the arts. You can read our Carers Week Blog here.

We were delighted that Lingo Flamingo came to cook, eat and speak Italian at the Musselburgh Friendship Group and we had our first digital dining when we were joined by Philly from DEEP in Yorkshire.

Dunbar Dementia Carers Support Group took their wonderful banners to The Procession in Edinburgh - have a look at their Facebook Page to find out more. @Dunbar Dementia Carers Support Group.

Coming up, a chance to learn about Creating Conversations with people with dementia in designing a community sensory garden at Cockenzie House, a new research project on toilets and travelling and 2 important consultations you might well have views on - Carers and Getting older. There's more details below.

Hope to see you soon!

Cheers,

Sue
