My study Bible says it this way: “Paul wrote Philippians as a thank-you note to the believers of Philippi, for their help in his hour of need.”  In Phil. 4:1 Paul says, “Dear brothers and sisters, I love you and long to see you, for you are my joy and the reward of my work. So please stay true to the Lord, my dear friends.”  I never realized it, but Paul so eloquently shares how we feel about our own support team:  You are the joy and reward of our work as true friends and partners with us in ministry.
Thank you for helping us get to 41%!!!  We are only 9% away from our end-of-year goal of 50%!  You are truly a blessing and gift to us.

Sharing Around Town

Part of the joy in our journey is getting to encourage people in their faith and share what God has done in our own lives all around town.  Here are some happenings this past month:

Full Disclosure

The often misguided Christmas season…the Santa-focused, elaborate-decorating, hyper-materialistic, keep-up-with-the-Joneses one…can sometimes be distracting to our family.  It serves as a reminder of the “good” in our previous life and the “hard” of the refining of the new life. Please pray with us that God will give us eyes that are focused and hearts to perceive the joy of the new thing He is doing.  (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Guest Award

The McAdams family wins the guest award for this newsletter, not so much for a specific talent, but for their gracious handling of Brittany’s “not-so-award-winning” pie.  The pie itself was delicious, but after failed attempts at cutting it into pieces, everyone grabbed a spoon and enjoyed it family-style!  Memories were definitely made!
