Guernsey Harbours have promised a definitive list of Cruise ship visits at the end of January and we will be pushing for this information to be released as soon as possible.  We do know that the excursion agents are now active and hope to be booking tours very soon.  Visit Guernsey are currently working on a tender for the Guernsey harbour welcome and handling.  We have asked that this is produced before the end of January and will circulate it to all members when released.
The new timetable for 2022 has been issued, and we have already raised our concerns in a meeting with Condor this week with regards to timings of some of the crossings and the lack of inter-island services.   There is the addition in the timetable of nearly 60 day trips from the UK.  This could be positive for the island.   We are keeping an eye on the acquisition of the new ship and cautiously support the move as long as it can be used to improve the passenger movements to and from Guernsey.
The VG 2020 strategy is attached.  We would welcome your feedback on this.
Visit Guernsey have also asked us to remind all members about their Trade and Media site.
You should have received login details for their Guernsey Trade and Media Site.  This allows you to file images and videos that you might want to use in your own promotion on your social channels and adverts.
You are also able to view stats relating to referrals to your own website and download a What’s On This Week listing.

If you need a reminder of your login details, you should contact Paul Belben at VisitGuernsey.

Economic Development have announced that they are working on a new Tourism Strategy. We know that the focus is around trying to get a full States 'buy in’ to the Strategy and much of it is internal.  We have been assured that the Tourism Recovery Task Force will be consulted in due course.  We are well represented at the Tourism Recovery Task Force.
Economic Development have also commissioned a report into a potential Destination Management Organisation (DMO) by Keith Beecham (the former CEO of  Visit Jersey and of Visit Britain) .  As part of this Tourism Industry consultation, I have been asked to meet with Keith Beecham next week to give the GTP position and thoughts on a Destination Management Organisation.

We are assured that the visitor information centre will continue to provide the service in its present location until October this year.  An alternative location is actively being sought and the GTP are active in the process.  There are opportunities for GTP members to utilise the display space at the information centre all ideas and proposals are welcomed by the centre management.
If you would like to be involved in the future of the Visitor Centre please get in touch.  Your help will be needed to ensure that we have a quality service in the future.

Orchard PR have been appointed to organise on island PR and visits from journalists.  Lotus PR will remain as the first point of contact in the UK, however their original contract has been split, in order that a significant amount is now organised on island.
