Director's Corner

Hello February, I'm over here thinking it means another month that brings us closer to spring! (We're choosing to believe Sand Mountain Sam over Punxsutawney Phil btw).

Have you seen the progress on the apartments at Bridge Street? They're coming along and we're so excited to have apartments inside the Park for the first time in our history!

Our friends at HudsonAlpha are preparing for their annual Double Helix Dash in early April. This is an awesome run/walk inside CRP and down their Double Helix Park. Grab your family, friends or colleagues and sign up now!

Throughout February and March, we're gonna show you some love CRP. We've got your caffeine fix, whether it be a latte, cappuccino or any other caffeinated concoction, it's on us. Just stop-grab-and-go.  Wanna know when and where? The only place we will announce the location and date is on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Seriously, we want to share some joe with you...just follow us here and/or here...if you want that free cuppa on us!

See ya next time...

Erin Koshut
Director, Cummings Research Park
Can we show you some love and thanks? FREE gourmet coffee drinks in CRP! Follow us on Facebook/Twitter for your stop-and-go caffeine fix!

2018: The Year of Genomic Medicine in Alabama
HudsonAlpha, January  2018

Alabama families seeking genomic testing will have more options than ever before in 2018, thanks to a number of new initiatives and research projects across the state. At HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology alone, more than 1000 people have undergone diagnostic genomic sequencing in the last several years; in 2018, new and ongoing projects will push that number to 1500 or more. That’s on top of the 100,000+ samples already sequenced through HudsonAlpha’s Genomic Services Lab.
