Larkspur Housing Element Interactive Map

The City of Larkspur is updating its Housing Element. As part of the 2023-2031 6th Cycle Housing Element Update, Larkspur is required by State law to plan for 979 new housing units across all income levels. A virtual interactive tool allows community members to let the City know where they would like new housing sites located. The tool will be available and open to the public until April 13, 2022. Information will be used to help determine where to include new sites in the Housing Element. Link available here.

Magnolia Ave Road Closure

Work continues on Magnolia Ave ADA improvements. New sidewalks are complete and planting and electrical work is underway. The contractor is preparing for final street paving, scheduled for Monday April 4. This work will require a closure of Magnolia Avenue from King Street to Ward Street. Traffic will be detoured to Locust Avenue during the daytime paving.

You can check for updates on various City projects by visiting the Larkspur Public Works Project Updates page.

Zero Waste Marin: Less Toxic Alternatives

Reduce your use of hazardous products! Zero Waste Marin encourages everyone to use less harmful and toxic products to clean your home and office. Use baking soda as a good all-purpose cleaner and vinegar to make your windows and mirrors sparkle. Look for less toxic or non-toxic products when you shop, or create your own less toxic cleaning recipes. Be aware of “green” or “eco-friendly” packaging as it is sometimes simply a marketing ploy to promote a perception of truly environmentally friendly products. More information available here

Natural Disaster Preparedness

Natural disasters have become a fact of everyday life, and Larkspur is working to be better prepared. We know that the most likely disasters for our community are earthquakes, fires, flooding and potential long-term power outages either as a direct consequence or a preventative measure.
