City Manager Update

Community Picnic Supper

The Larkspur Community Foundation will host a community picnic in front of the American Legion Hall on Sunday, September 25th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is a free event where members of the community are invited to bring dinner and enjoy the company of fellow Larkspurians. Space is limited, so early reservations are encouraged. Reservations can be made at LCF.pingg.com/larkspurpicnic16

Leaf Blower Discussion

In response to recent community interest in establishing a leaf blower policy for the City of Larkspur, the City will discuss leaf blower use in Larkspur at the next regular meeting of the City Council on September 21st at 6:30 pm. Interested members of the community are encouraged to attend and offer comment. Agenda materials will be published on Friday, September 16th and available at cityoflarkspur.org.

Conservation Corps Work

This week, Conservation Corps North Bay conducted annual creek maintenance throughout Larkspur. The majority of cleanup took place along the William Avenue drainage ditch, the drainage ditch next to the American Legion Hall, and the drainage ditch across the street from 965 Magnolia Ave.

Larkspur Past and Present on Sale

Larkspur Past and Present, the photo-filled 384-page book by local residents that tells the story the city's history, is on sale now at a reduced price. The book features over 600 photos and includes clear walking maps of the city for exploration. Larkspur’s historic downtown plus newer neighborhoods, such as Greenbrae and the San Quentin Peninsula are included.

Proceeds from book sales support Larkspur’s efforts to preserve its colorful history. The new cost of hardcover books is $20, and softcover books are $15. Books can be purchased in Marin at Diesel Book Store at the Marin Country Mart, Book Passage in Corte Madera, and at the Larkspur City Hall and Library. Larkspur Past and Present is also available on Amazon.com.
