The Bible, Racism and You

Psalm for the Day: Psalm 91:1-6, 14-16

O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing
mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we,
running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of
your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for
ever and ever. Amen.

You may now start signing up for your family's photo session here!  Use the link for which date and place you would like your picture taken. You will inform them of your home church when the pictures are taken.

Life Line Screening
Every 17 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes. The American Diabetes Association’s website states that as many as 1 in 3 American adults will have diabetes in 2050 unless steps are taken to stop this disease. Early detection is critical. This is why Clair United Methodist Church is hosting Life Line Screening, the nation’s leading provider of preventive health screenings on Thursday, November 17, 2016.

Charge Conference
This Sunday, September 25th, 2016, 6:30 PM at Ashland UMC is our Charge Conference. All church board members are strongly encouraged to attend.

UMCOR Relief Supply Kits
We will be collecting donations to help those in areas affected by the extreme flooding. Each bucket kit costs $65. You can find more information here. You can give directly to UMCOR online at that link, or make a donation through our church with the note "flood relief". Thank you for being generous.

Festival of Sharing
This year we are assisting the Missouri food box.  The boxes will have items to feed a family for a few days.  Lists of the items we need for the boxes are at church. If you prefer,  you can just give money and the Missions Committee will purchase any necessary items. Our youth group will take to Sedalia, so please deliver your items to church no later than October 9, 2016

We are not our labels. We are not who others say we are. And we aren’t the broken self-image we see in the mirror. So how can we get to our true identity? By laying down who we think we are to become who God says we are. Let’s discover our Altar Ego.
Pastor Ben Mulford is available by appointment. Contact him at 816.689.8885 or

If you have anything for the bulletin, please contact Pastor Ben by phone or preferably email. Bulletins are prepared on Thursdays, so please make contact by end of day on Wednesday.
