Week One: First Priority

We’ve surveyed the congregation and selected 4 scriptures to learn from and 4 songs to sing. Let’s try to listen with new ears and open minds, and sing with glad hearts.

Scripture for the Week: Matthew 6:33
Song of the Week: Leaning On The Everlasting Arms
Psalm for the Day: Psalm 24

Almighty and merciful God, it is only by your gift that your faithful people offer you true and laudable service: Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

11/19 Night Crew Women's Meeting
This month's meeting will be held at Kathy Hessel's home.  Time changed to 6:30. Join us for fun, food, and a craft. Call Kathy for directions @ 816-253-9613.  Not a regular night crew member? No problem! Come join us anyway!

12/13 Church Christmas Party
Mark your Calendars for December 13! We will meet at 3pm to go caroling, then have a chili and soup meal at 5p. Following supper, we will have a white elephant gift exchange. No need to buy a gift, just bring something silly that's wrapped. Kids can expect a special visit from Santa.

Open Door Food Kitchen
The Open Door (November 17th) sign up sheet for helping and donations will be passed around during church the next couple of weeks.

MWSU Food Drive
The MWSU Campus has a food pantry to help students in need be able to eat. Many times just paying tuition and rent uses up most of their income. There are times when the cafeteria is not open and a student cannot afford to eat out. Your donation of any of the following items will support students in their education and help the graduate with less debt: canned meats (tuna and salmon), crackers, peanut butter, canned ravioli, tuna helper, evaporated milk, canned fruit, pre-made jello/pudding/etc., cereal/oatmeal, pasta/sauce, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, deodorant, body wash, razors, diapers, baby food.

New Vine Campus Ministry
New Vine meets weekly at 7pm on the MWSU Campus, Murphy building, room 109. We are always looking for volunteers. Contact Tom Keller if interested.

Food for Kids Thanksgiving Food Drive
Help families here in St. Joseph enjoy a Thanksgiving Dinner by donating turkeys, hams, cornish hens, or funds to purchase these (~$15-$20 per turkey). Last year, Food for Kids distributed over 400 turkeys to families in need, and Clair Church helped out with over $500 worth of donations. Thank you for your generosity. Deadline is TODAY. Contact Pastor Ben for more info.
