Week Three: Joy & Hope

Christmastime is a time of gifts. More than just the boxes we open, scripture shows us the real gifts of Christmas: the ones that come through Jesus Christ. Join us, and unwrap gifts that can’t be contained in a box, gift bag, or envelope. Gifts that will change your life.

Scripture for the Week: Luke 1:46-55 (Mary's Song)
Psalm for the Day: Isaiah 12:2-6

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK

Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

EVENTS

THIS SUNDAY -  Church Christmas Party
We will meet at 3pm to go caroling, then have a chili and soup meal at 5p. Following supper, we will have a white elephant gift exchange. No need to buy a gift, just bring something silly that's wrapped. Kids can expect a special visit from Santa.

12/20 Open Door Food Kitchen
Ebenezer will be serving at the Open Door Food Kitchen by preparing sack lunches after church on Sunday, December 20th.

OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE

Christmas Adopt-A-Family
This Christmas, we are helping the AFL-CIO by sponsoring families who need help during the holidays. Please select a person to buy a gift for by picking up a slip of paper. The slip of paper will tell you who you are buying a gift for, and what gift to buy. Then, bring the gift back to church, wrapped and with the slip of paper this Sunday.

MWSU Food Drive
The MWSU Campus has a food pantry to help students in need be able to eat. Many times just paying tuition and rent uses up most of their income. There are times when the cafeteria is not open and a student cannot afford to eat out. Your donation of any of the following items will support students in their education and help the graduate with less debt: canned meats (tuna and salmon), crackers, peanut butter, canned ravioli, tuna helper, evaporated milk, canned fruit, pre-made jello/pudding/etc., cereal/oatmeal, pasta/sauce, shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, deodorant, body wash, razors, diapers, baby food.

New Vine Campus Ministry
New Vine meets weekly at 7pm on the MWSU Campus, Murphy building, room 109. We are always looking for volunteers. Contact Tom Keller if interested.
