Week One: Fellowship, Joy and Light

The “Dear Church” series explores the pastoral letters of John (1 John, 2 John, 3 John) and the Book of Revelation. Throughout these texts, John encourages the church and helps them navigate living like Jesus in the real world while anticipating the life to come.

Psalm for the Day: Psalm 96
Scripture for the Week: 1 John 2:3-6

O God, your never-failing providence sets in order all things
both in heaven and earth: Put away from us, we entreat you,
all hurtful things, and give us those things which are profitable
for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Pregnancy Resource Center Mission
As a congregation we are once again doing the baby bottle challenge between Mother's day and Father's day.  This is one of our church's big mission objectives each year for a local agency.
The Pregnancy Resource Center is an important organization that strives to help pregnant women in all aspects of the challenge of having a baby.  Your donations are GREATLY appreciated and used wisely. Please take a bottle and try to add to it daily during the next month.  The bottle needs to be returned Father's Day. If you are writing a check, please make it out to the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC).

Fellowship Hall Almost Paid Off!
Thank you to all those who have supported the building of our Fellowship Hall. Our goal is to have it paid off by our 175th Anniversary Celebration this September. We only have around $3200 left to raise to pay off the loan. If you would like to designate a gift towards the Fellowship Hall fund, please be sure to specify that by writing "Fellowship Hall" in the memo of your check, or on your offering envelope. Keep up the great work!

Soles 4 Souls
Step up and clean out! Please bring new or gently used shoes to church by this Sunday, May 29th. These shoes will be used to fight poverty through the distribution of your donation.

Foster Care Opportunity
Children in foster care have suffered from abuse and neglect and are in need of safe, stable, and nurturing homes. Currently, Judicial Circuit 5 (consisting of Buchanan and Andrew counties) has 77 children in foster care and only 43 licensed homes. In an effort to raise awareness about the need for foster homes in your community, Healthy Families is hosting:
The Most Rewarding Challenge: An introduction to foster parenting
Tuesday, June 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
