What have we been up to this week?

Hey there! It's Monday, and it's time for your 61st ScourgeBringer open development newsletter issue.

Previously on ScourgeBringer: we almost finished to integrate the boss system and the first boss. It works, but still lacked the door system and sound design.

Last week, we made some serious progress on the missing parts of the boss system, and we're pleased that it's not fully finished!

I wasn't sure if we would have the time to complete it before the Stunfest, but here we are, everything's in. Florian and I managed to integrate smoothly the boss mega door system, and Joonas rocked (literally) the boss sound design!

We even had the time to do some extra polish on the boss and the door design.

This means that: we now have a demo ready for the Sunfest!

Speaking of which, we are preparing our booth decoration. Florian made a cool overlay to put on the monitor, and we ordered a bunch of stickers and badges.

This week, I will be completely off to the Stunfest where I have a talk and will manage our booth along with Mickael from Dear Villagers. Florian is going to polish the demo to add more varied rooms.

If you want to follow my adventures to the Stunfest, you can follow me on Twitter. Expect lots of galette (a type of pancake typical to the area where the Stunfest takes place) photos!

See next week for the Stunfest report!

How is our budget doing?

Every week, we update our production budget based on our initial budget and our ongoing revenues.

ScourgeBringer budget is counted in "months of subsistence" instead of money. We believe that it is a more understandable way to explain how budgets are constructed and consumed.

Our remaining budget is: 7.52 months (32.70 weeks)*

  • So far, we consumed -14.26 months (-62 weeks) from working of this project;
  • And we consumed -1.22 months (-5.30 weeks) from investing (e.g. buying hardware, paying for services...);
  • We also earned back +11.00 months (+47.83 weeks) from our ongoing revenues (e.g. NeuroVoider & Boo! Greedy Kid sales, contract work...).

Our initial budget for ScourgeBringer was 12 months when we started.

For a more detailed breakdown of our budget construction, you can refer to the first issue of this newsletter.
*1 week = 0.23 month (based on a 365-day year and a 7-day week)
