To our valued customers:

Thanks to the support of our dedicated customers JinkoSolar enjoyed a banner year in 2016.  We celebrated our 10-year anniversary in 2016 by becoming the world’s largest PV module manufacturer.  We had the best-selling module globally in 2016, as well as maintaining leading crystalline PV market share for utility-scale projects in the US and substantially expanding our residential and distribution channels. This performance was due in large part to our continued dedication to on-time shipments and product performance.  Our operations team built on a long-standing 5-year track record of on-time shipment rate exceeding 99.97%.   JinkoSolar’s financial situation remains the most stable among our peers, with quarterly earnings consistently meeting or exceeding guidance and continued module cost leadership.  2016 also saw us spin off our China IPP business, Jinko Power, removing about 50% of the company’s debt and raising $250 million in cash, which gives us an industry-leading balance sheet and allows significant investment into the module business in 2017.
The election in November 2016 was a much talked about event; although there may be some impacts to the market, we remain very positive about solar as a competitive energy source.  As active members of SEIA, ACORE, and the Global Solar Council, we will continue to monitor the market and deliver any insights to you.  One driver of the competitiveness of solar has been the precipitous decline of module prices.  We believe prices will edge back up in 2017 due in part to heightened demand in China for high powered modules through the Top Runner program, as well as slowed factory capacity expansions by many suppliers.
We are also very encouraged by the proliferation of new technology in the market and have recently seen acceptance of mono PERC modules in the market.  We are also debuting new poly processing methods that increase the efficiency of poly cells at minimal cost- a competitive alternative to mono PERC.  We were the first to deploy 1500V modules in the US market and continue to hold the biggest share of 1500V projects.  2016 also saw the continued rollout of our MX modules, which embed cell-string level optimization in the junction-box, and the announcement of our forthcoming AC module in 2017. JinkoSolar continues to invest in R&D and new technologies and will rely on your input to determine which new advances we bring to market.
In discussing with our customers, we also realized the importance of loan products in the residential market, as well as a strong need for a dependable recycling option in the US.  With that in mind, we rolled out a relationship with GreenSky, a leader in home improvement loans, and have now equipped many of our residential customers with extremely competitive rates to offer homeowners.  We were also founding members of the nation’s first recycling network, currently being rolled out by SEIA.  Your comments and requests will further shape the complementary offerings we put together in 2017.
On behalf of JinkoSolar, I want to wish all of you a joyous holiday season, and we look forward to doing more business with you in the coming year.
Best Regards,
Nigel Cockroft

Giving Back

JinkoSolar Donates 57 kW to GRID Alternatives

JinkoSolar’s high-efficiency panels will help GRID Alternatives provide solar systems to approximately 16 low-income families in the Washington DC area, which is expected to save them $533,000 in lifetime energy costs. This donation will prevent 1094 tons of greenhouse gas emissions, which is the equivalent to 209 cars taken off the roads for a year, or 25,700 trees planted.
JinkoSolar Powers the Miami Science Barge
JinkoSolar has donated 16.9 kilowatts (kW) of PV modules for the construction of the Miami Science Barge (“Barge”), a floating marine lab and environmental education center in Miami, Florida.

The Miami Science Barge, a 3,600 square foot barge docked in the Museum Park in Biscayne Bay, was designed to focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and sustainability initiatives.

JinkoSolar Donates 57 kW to Everybody Solar

JinkoSolar’s donation of 212 of its high-efficiency PV modules will help Everybody Solar provide solar energy systems to 3 non-profits in the U.S.: the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) in Petaluma, California, the Sciencenter, in Ithaca, New York, and a third yet to be announced.
