With Cho-Liang Lin (violin)
and Orion Weiss (piano)

ROBERTSON-WESLEY UNITED CHURCH
10209 – 123 Street NW Edmonton, AB
The Edmonton Chamber Music Society presents a magical evening of romantic and impressionistic music composed for string quartet, violin, and piano.
The program features Chausson’s Concerto in D Major for Violin, Piano and String Quartet, in addition to Ravel’s Violin Sonata No. 2 (with its blues slow movement) and Debussy’s String Quartet in G Minor.
Dr. Patricia Tao says, “We know that the New Orford String Quartet is a wonderful group! ECMS has had both violinists perform at the summer festival a number of times.”
Cho-Liang Lin has had a major career as a violin soloist, having performed with major orchestras and recorded on Sony, Decca, Naxos, and BIS. He was featured in an ECMS main season concert and is well-known to Edmonton audiences. He is currently Artistic Director of the La Jolla Music Society SummerFest, held annually in California.
Orion Weiss is a young but already well-respected and established piano soloist. He has performed with the Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, and National Arts Centre Symphonies.
With a fabulous repertoire and these six stars, we anticipate a delightful evening. To complement the musical treat, plan to join the audience, donors, interns, volunteers, and ECMS Board for wine and snacks at the intermission.
