Please note that we are starting the meeting 15 minutes earlier than normal and finishing promptly at 7:30 so that attendees can make it home in time for the Republican Debate that starts at 8:00 PM CST on Fox Business Network.
Invite your friends and enjoy a fun evening with like-minded conservatives!
We are excited to have two excellent speakers at our next Parker County Conservatives meeting!
Beth Van Duyne (Irving Mayor) is a courageous conservative who has been under attack by the left-wing media; first because of her efforts to resist an Islamic tribunal in Irving establishing its own "Sharia Court", and later because of statements she made involving the “clock boy” incident when a 14-yr old student brought a “home made” clock in a briefcase to school. She has been all over the news, including being a guest on the Glenn Beck Program. We are very excited to get to hear her side of the story.
Beth Van Duyne Bio: A magna cum laude graduate of Cornell University, Beth Van Duyne is in her second three-year term as Mayor of Irving, TX. After serving on the City Council for six years, she first ran for Mayor in 2011 and received nearly 60% of the vote in the nonpartisan municipal election. Her electoral victory in 2014 was 70% of the vote. In addition to her service to the citizens of Irving, Beth has a 20-year career providing strategic direction to senior corporate management and developing company-wide marketing and communications initiatives. Her professional experience has included small startups, mid-sized private companies, and Fortune 500 corporations such as Verizon, American Airlines, and Burson Marstellar. Concurrent with her municipal responsibilities, Beth is a member of the US Conference of Mayors Advisory Board, the Texas Municipal League, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, past member of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Board, and is a Hatton Sumners Foundation trustee. She also chairs the Economic Development Advisory Council and serves on the Executive Boards of both the North Texas Commission and the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Urban Center Task Force. A frequently interviewed public official, she has appeared in the New York Times, Fox News, CNN, USA Today, ESPN, and the Wall Street Journal.
Joseph Wade MIller (Heritage Action) will discuss recent and upcoming activity and legislative action in Washington DC including the election of Paul Ryan as Speaker of the US House, its consequences and the two-year Boehner-Obama budget.
Joseph Wade Miller Bio: The South Central Regional Coordinator for Heritage Action, served in the United States Marine Corps and is an infantry combat veteran with multiple deployments including Iraq and the Horn of Africa. After completing his military service, Wade enrolled at The University of Texas at Dallas and majored in Political Science. While attending university, Wade served as a Bill Archer Fellow and as an intern for the President of The Heritage Foundation, Dr. Edwin J. Feulner.
It will be a short but very sweet meeting that you are guaranteed to enjoy and you can still make it home to see the debate (assuming you have Fox Business Network)
We are looking forward to seeing many conservative friends tonight!
