SUMMER BULLETIN  / Issue 5 / July 11

Dear Immaculata families,

We're already halfway through summer break! I know many of you may have questions about the first draft of the reopening handbook that was published last week. The first draft gives an overview of our tentative plans and is a work in progress to be finalized in August when we have further input from the state and diocese. There are still many unknowns and moving parts, but we are working tirelessly to adapt our reopening plans to balance the needs and safety of the greater community with that of individual students.

In order to help clarify the details of the three reopening scenarios, we will be hosting
Q&A sessions in the evenings of July 13-15 and 20. Sign up with your questions and Mr. Kurz, Ms. Badillo, and I will address them in live Zoom presentations. The sessions will be recorded and posted online for those who are unable to attend.

Following the Q&A sessions, we will send out a survey to get an understanding of each family's intentions for the fall. Your feedback will help us plan for internal and online needs.

I appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to fine tune our plans for reopening this fall.

God Bless,
Dana Corcoran

ICS Summer Scholars
We love seeing so many rising K-8 students working hard to become ICS Summer Scholars. While participation is optional, it is strongly encouraged to help keep math and reading skills sharp over the summer. Details on the program are available online.

School App Launching Soon!

Our new school app is launching later this summer! It will be the central hub for all school communications, including the events calendar, news, important links, forms, and more. It can be accessed by downloading the app onto your phone/tablet or by visiting the website on your computer. Opt in to get notifications so you don't miss a thing! More details will be shared in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

Ms. Belvin has a summer reading book review! It is about "Where the Watermelons Grow," a Battle of the Books selection for Intermediate students. Please check it out! If your child would like to submit a book review, please email a video file or link and we will share it in an upcoming Summer Bulletin. Happy reading!

Summer reading isn't just for kids! Join our H&SA Book Club for a discussion on "Big Little Lies" (haven't read the book but watched the show? That counts too!). Sign up to attend the online meeting on Monday, July 20, from 7:00-8:30pm. Cocktails optional.

We are currently seeking volunteers to join the Fall Fundraiser committee to help procure auction items. If interested, please contact Robyn Soffera.

Use code SUMMER15 to get 15% off and free shipping on online orders of $100+ at FlynnO'Hara from June 13-17.
