Help the Beach to Bay Heritage Area on Giving Tuesday

The Shore Gives More Giving Tuesday event on Dec. 1 offers a 24-hour opportunity to help local nonprofits. Your donation to Beach to Bay Heritage Area will enable us to continue helping our local museums, historic sites, attractions and small businesses in their recovery efforts from the COVID pandemic. We are also partnering with the Rural Maryland Council to create online virtual tours of our historic sites and attractions in order to encourage folks to get back to visiting and supporting them. Please consider giving to the Beach to Bay Heritage Area this year either as a pre-scheduled gift or as a donation on Dec. 1. Thank you!

NEWS YOU CAN USE

Rackliffe House in Berlin has received funding for exhibits through Heritage Area and mini grants.

Plan now for next year's Heritage Area grants

It's not too early to begin planning for projects that could qualify for funding from the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) in 2021! MHAA grants support nonprofit organizations and government entities with up to $50,000 for non-capital projects and up to $100,000 for capital projects located within a Certified Heritage Area. Grants can support projects involving historical, cultural or natural resources, sites, events or facilities. Eligible projects must have a heritage tourism component or contribute to research that will directly inform a heritage tourism product.

In an effort to attract a more diverse pool of grant applicants, MHAA has made a significant change in the cash match requirement. Read more about the change in match requirements and applying for grants on the MHT Blog. Letters of intent to apply are due January 29, 2021.
