FUTURE LAUNCH OF SUBMEASURE 17.1 - INSURANCE PREMIUMS FOR CROPS, LIVESTOCK AND PLANTS

Submeasure 17.1 Insurance premiums for crops, livestock and plants is included in the current version of RDP, published on MARD website – www.madr.ro Rural Development section. The submeasure aims to encourage farmers to sign insurance policies, in order to properly manage the risks that may affect the agricultural production.
The support is to be granted to farmers who have signed insurance contracts for crops or livestocks, according to the conditions provided in the Applicant's Guide and shall cover a part of the eligible insurance premium paid by the farmer.
The consultative version of the documents (Applicant s Guide and annexes) have been submitted to public consultation and can still be accessed on AFIR website.
Estimated launch of the call of projects is at the end of March 2019.

  CONSULTATIVE VERSIONS OF GUIDES FOR SUBMEASURES 5.1, 5.2 AND 7.4

Consultative versions (2nd) have been published on AFIR site - Public debate section, of the following submeasures:
  • 5.1 support for investments in preventive actions aimed at reducing the consequences of probable natural disasters, adverse climatic events and catastrophic events
  • 5.2 support for investments for the restoration of agri­cultural land and production potential damaged by natural disasters, adverse climatic events and catastrophic events
  • 7.4  support for investments in the setting-up, improvement or expansion of local basic services for the rural population including leisure and culture, and the related infrastructure

  CALL FOR PROJECTS SUBMEASURE 4.1 a, OPEN UNTIL 15 AUGUST 2019

Starting 15 February and until 15 August, takes place the call for projects on submeasure 4.1a - Investments in fruit-growing holdings.
The submission is performed online, according to the provisions of the Applicant's Guide.

NEWSLETTER EIP-AGRI – EDITION~ 66 NOW AVAILABLE ALSO IN ROMANIAN
 

February edition of EIP-AGRI newsletter is available in English, French and now also in Romanian on eip-agri site – Newsletters  and on  rndr.ro – PEI – AGRI section (RO).
Topics include: solutions for gravepine trunck diseases, increasing circularity in protected horticulture, EURIC competition and many other interesting topics.

 EU Rural Innovation Contest
Until 15 March you can register and share your innovative and inspiring initiatives from farming, forestry and agri-food supply chain.
The contest will be open for entries until 15 March 2019 and entry form is available in 16 languages.

PHOTO CONTEST - COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO ME?

Students and apprentices of educational institutes with agricultural profile, answered this question through images, on the occasion of the photography between France and Romania.
The contest was organized by the Embassy of France in Romania, with the collaboration of the rural networks from the two states.
The photos registered within the contest can be seen on the facebook page and on the page of the French Rural Network.


EAFRD FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS – ADEQUATE PRODUCTS FOR FINANCING RURAL INFRASTRUCTURES

On 13 February 2019, in Brussels was held the ‘EAFRD Financial Instruments – Adequate products for financing rural infrastructures’ event.

The event, organised by the European Commission – Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), aimed to further raise awareness and facilitate exchange of experiences and ideas on the potential for financial instruments in supporting agricultural and rural infrastructures under the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), to investigate the financing gap for infrastructure investment in rural areas and to discuss how to set up adequate and effective financial instruments.

FIRST MEETING OF THE SMART VILLAGE NETWORK
 
During 5-7 February 2019, Ellivuori Resort hosted the first meeting of the Smart Village Network.
The event was addressed to networks of villages, village groups and village associations, as well as trusted enablers of local development in rural communities, at local and regional level.
The discussions aimed transnational exchange and learning, study visits, pilot actions, and access to relevant expertise. Key enablers of smart village approaches will be integrated policies and access to multiple funding sources.

NATIONAL EVENTS
ORDINARY SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE ROMANIAN ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNES (AcoR)

During 17 – 20 februarie 2019, in Bucharest, took place the works of the General Assembly of Romanian Association of the Communes (ACoR), event attended also by the management of MARD, MA RDP, AFIR and APIA. The theme was "Romanian rural areas, European rural areas"

Attending the event, Petre DAEA - minister of agriculture and rural development, offered clarifications
regarding the system for granting subsidies and latest information regarding the Law of the Mountain and on the status of dossiers.

LAUNCH OF THE ADVISORY SERVICES FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS PROJECT

On 20 February, at Cheile Grădiștei – Brașov county, was held the conference regarding the launch of the Advisory services for agricultural producers regarding the setting-up and developing associative forms (AGRICOOP) project .
The project is co-financed by EAFRD, RDP's measure 2 -
Advisory services, farm management and farm relief services and it is carried on during 2018-2021.
The activities of the project aim promoting the advisory services amongst agricultural producers, regarding the development of associative forms, according to the national legislation into force.


INFORMAL MEETING OF THE DIRECTORS – GENERAL FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT



Within the framework of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Council, during 27-29 March 2019, in Bucharest will be held the Informal meeting of the Directors - General for Rural Development.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development through the Directorate General for Rural Development - Managing Authority for NRDP and addresses the means and methods to support young farmers within the National Strategic Plans.

RDP NATIONAL CONFERENCE: COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY 2021-2027 AND STATUS OF RDP 2020 IMPLEMENTATION 
On the 4th February 2019, took place the National Conference for RDP, organised by the National Rural Network, with the theme The future of the Romanian village.
Within the conference, the minister has presented aspects regarding the Common Agricultural Policy for 2021-2027, as well as a review of the RDP implementation.
