JOURNEYS is excited to announce that
JOURNEYS | The Road Home won both categories
that we were nominated in for the
Daily Herald's 2020 Readers' Choice Awards
Best Non-Profit and Best Charity!

JOURNEYS works hard every day to support the community
that we serve. Thank you to everyone that voted and
for your continued support.

Congratulations to the other winners!
Pictured is JOURNEYS HOPE Center Manager, Jon Rapp working with a client to complete their census paperwork.

Since the pandemic started, HOPE Center services
have continued without interruption.

In fact, over 800 counseling appointments have been scheduled from March through August between clients and the JOURNEYS clinical team. To safely serve the long term needs of clients, tele-services have been added in addition to scheduled in-person meetings. For clients sheltering at hotels without computers or transportation, JOURNEYS case managers
will meet clients in person at their hotel.
The highest safety precautions are always followed to keep
staff and clients safe whenever in-person meetings are required.

JOURNEYS | The Road Home is delighted to welcome Nick Heuertz,
a police officer with the Palatine Police Department,
to JOURNEYS Board of Directors!

JOURNEYS is grateful that Nick has chosen to support JOURNEYS mission
and help the population that we serve.

"My family moved to Palatine when I was young, I attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Palatine High School.  After graduating from PHS, I attended Purdue University and studied political science.

I've worked for the Palatine Police Department for three years now and have worked as a patrol officer, a uniformed tactical unit officer, and am currently assigned as a school resource officer (Go Warriors!).

When I started working as a police officer, I was really interested in working with organizations that served the community. JOURNEYS was an obvious choice and the Palatine Police Department administration was supportive of my desire to work with JOURNEYS.  After serving as the JOURNEYS outreach liaison, I was presented with the opportunity to join the JOURNEYS Board of Directors.
I am passionate about JOURNEYS mission and am excited to play a
role in the future of the organization."

JOURNEYS | The Road Home is excited about this addition to our board!

Congratulations to JOURNEYS Case Manager, Marie Bulfer for passing the Masters ASWB examination and becoming an (LSW) Licensed Social Worker!

JOURNEYS clinical staff members hold numerous accreditations including LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), CADC (Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor), and ICDVP (Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional)

JOURNEYS clinical team is highly trained and extremely dedicated
to the community that JOURNEYS serves.
