Hey, <<First Name>>!
It's been really fun sending out the Freelance Friday every week for over a year.
BUT, it's time for a change.
Since I've been in a job for about 5 months, this newsletter has felt a bit like a part of the "old me" I've been hanging onto and instead of being a fun thing I continued doing, it was just a reminder from my past every week.
I don't miss freelancing and I'm really happy with my new role, so it feels disingenuous to have freelance-themed weekly newsletter.
So, what next?
The Freelance Friday is going away, and I'll be changing the branding and name of this email. The content will stay pretty much the same, you can still expect to read about:
- Design-related stuff including graphic design, web design, fashion, home decor, architecture and everything else
- Technology-related stuff
- Career-related stuff
- Nostalgic, weird corner of the internet stuff
- Podcasts and music I'm listening to
- Books I'm reading
You'll still get a newsletter from me on Fridays, but it won't be every Friday, it'll be once a month. I want to keep the quality of the content I share pretty high and I'm finding a weekly schedule isn't great for that.
I've noticed in the past few months that engagement has been down in this newsletter, so if someone hasn't opened an email from me in the past several weeks, they'll be taken off the list. AND, you can also unsubscribe now if the new direction doesn't float your boat. No hard feelings.
I'm taking a bit of a break to re-brand and re-launch – I'll be back in your inbox (if you don't unsubscribe!) on May 11.

The last conversation you need about healthy eating and nutrition. I've definitely been an overthinker when it comes to what I'm eating. It helps to simplify things in an article like this.
A very fun and interactive FAQ on the upcoming Prince Harry and Magan Markle wedding. I LOVE Royal Weddings so much, I'll definitely be getting up at the crack of dawn to watch it live.
Why are there so many brands with "Sunday" in their name? Such a weird trend!
"What Alexa taught my father" is a powerful piece on how we interact with technology.
On changing "Dark Design Patterns" to just "Asshole Patterns". Web design nerds and web design curious peeps: this is a great read.
Recommended Listening & Watching:
I started listening to two new Canadian podcasts this week:
1. Nobody Cares (Except for me) hosted by Anne T. Donahue, where she interviews a different guest every week about something they care about that no one else seems to care about. Funny and charming!
2. Personal Best by CBC radio, where the hosts help someone try something new that they didn't think they could ever do. Mixed results, but it's hilarious.
