Hey <<First Name>>,

What's new with you? I feel like an every-three-weeks newsletter might be TOO long in-between emails?

I miss writing every week in this fun corner of the internet, but I'd be lying if I said it is easy for me to prioritize this side hobby. I feel like I have a long list of goods to share this week so I'm going to keep the pre-amble brief.

But before I dive in, I'm gonna make an ask: if you have a pal who will love Creative Pursuits, forward it along to them with this link.

Recommended reading this month:

📓In my last newsletter, I wrote about getting back into journaling. I've become a big fan of the "ugly bullet journal".

😤In which 2018 is a weird dystopia where asbestos makes a comeback. Is it just me or does the description of where asbestos is mined in Russia sound a lot like the way Marget Atwood describes the colonies in The Handmaid's Tale

✂️I am so excited to check out Making it! with Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler. Loved this peek behind the scenes on what it's like to be a contestant on the crafty show

🏆A good way to think about success. Especially if you're the type of person to immediately begin climbing the next mountain.

📬Really good emails is really good at email inspiration.

🏡LANCE BASS WANTED TO BUY THE BRADY BUNCH HOUSE. And then HGTV stole it from underneath him! I hope they let Lance host the makeover show. 100% would watch this.

🛋In other TV home and decor news, love this take on a modern Golden Girls house and also, Rory Gilmore's pool house

🍰I started watching Zumbo's Just Desserts on Netflix and it's so great but they have one really annoying host who is supposed to be the designated "pep-talker" to the dessert makers. She's so discouraging! She's like, "You're mixing meringue and lemon curd? I don't think that'll work, but if you say so! good luck!" I know her intentions are good, but she could benefit from a few lessons in how to give a pep talk

💡I love how IKEA tweaks their designs based on different cultures and regions! It's such a great user research process. I heard a story that before they built their Halifax store, they came to Nova Scotia and went to people's homes to see how they lived. Apparently, the Swedes were surprised and perplexed that Maritimers are all about the Kitchen Party.

🍞Speaking of kitchen parties, giant focaccia sandwiches are a great way to feed a crowd that NEVER would have dawned on me, but I am pretty into the idea of creating a giant party sub.

🤔Blazer and officewear made out of yoga pant materials? Yes to anything secret pyjamas.

Recommended Listening & Watching:

I just started listening to Oprah's master class podcast and the Jay-Z episode was fantastic!

If you read all the way to the end:

I'm obsessed with this thread from the #shareyourrejections hashtag on twitter.
