YOSHIHIRO KITAI
New Prints Released

We are happy to share Yoshihiro Kitai's recently completed lithograph editions! There are four images in this series of hand-printed lithographs, each featuring three colors: a solid cloud layer, an undulating dot pattern, and a wash printed in silver ink. The prints measure 30" x 22", are editions of 16, and are priced at $700 each. You can view all of Yoshi's prints on our website.
Yoshihirio Kitai signing his four new Total Conflux editions in June 2020
"Conflux is what I observe--a borderless global energy flow between groups/countries. Somewhere in that format, different waves of colors will meet and merge into one. It is similar to two different directions of water meeting to sustain the balance in the ocean, or like multiple different cultures meeting at a place in the world."  - Yoshihiro Kitai

CYD CIMMIYOTTI
Raises $21,000 for CSIA

The Dancing with your Pendleton Stars event has been canceled, but our fundraising Star, Cyd Cimmiyotti and her sister Shannon Cimmiyotti Collins raised an astounding $21,000 for Crow's Shadow! Tapping into their deep network of friends, the sisters helped spread the word about the mission of Crow's Shadow to provide a creative conduit for educational, social, and economic opportunities for Native Americans through artistic development.

Crow's Shadow is incredibly grateful to Cyd Cimmiyotti and the Cimmiyotti family for all of the time and energy that they have dedicated to this effort.

Crow's Shadow is pleased to announce the arrival of Apprentice Printer, Maggie Middleton. On June 29, Middleton began working in the studio alongside CSIA’s Master Printer, Judith Baumann, who is currently creating editions for Natalie Ball (November 2019 Artist-in-Residence). Middleton’s tenure overlaps with Jaime Durham’s, who returned to CSIA during summer break from graduate studies and teaching at Washington State University in Pullman, WA.

Raised in Reston, Virginia, Middleton moved to Pendleton from Albuquerque, where she completed Tamarind Institute’s Professional Printer Training Program at the University of New Mexico. She earned her MFA in Printmaking at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, Poland, and her undergraduate degree is from Oberlin College in Ohio. This Apprenticeship will be at least six months in duration, with a possible extension of an additional six months. We are excited to have her in the studio and hope many of you get the chance to meet her.

You can check out her website here, or follow her on Instagram @maggie.landa.middleton
